Jordell Wynn
My name is Jordell Wynn, who is currently a 17-year-old Herzing University student. Jordell finds himself to be an ambitious young man who cares greatly for his community, culture, and education. He strives for greatness in many things that he does, showcasing that through his actions and thoughts. Jordell has done many things to harness his potential and get as close as possible to achieving his goals. Recently he graduated from Wilbur Cross High School, among the top 50 in his class. In addition, he has also graduated a year early, moving from the Class of 2025 to the Class of 2024. This came as a very hard task, especially being at the age of 17 and having so much responsibility on him. Furthermore, he was also a dual enrollment student through both the CT State Community College and Southern Connecticut State University. Jordell’s GPA was maintained throughout high school despite his circumstances and challenges, staying at a consistent 4.0.
Throughout Jordell’s time at Wilbur Cross High School, He participated in some activities that have enhanced his experiences. For example, the Debate Club with his AP Language and Composition teacher. Even while having a schedule filled with numerous AP-level classes, and multiple college classes concurrently, He also worked throughout the school year at a well-respected restaurant in his hometown of New Haven, CT. Being a student of New Haven, mostly known for the elite school of Yale, Jordell was granted an opportunity to attend there when many others have not had this chance. Because of his very well-established bond with his college counselor Ms. Julie Reinshagen, who has only helped Jordell and one other student graduate early in her 20 years of counseling, He was able to be selected out of a group of 8 students for the Schafer Family Scholarship for Yale’s Summer Session B. This scholarship fully paid for his housing and 2 classes that will be included on his college transcripts. It has greatly influenced his connections, experiences, and desire to further pursue his education at the highest level possible. Jordell wants to fully explore every opportunity possible for him to achieve his highest dreams.
In continuing his education, Jordell will matriculate at Herzing University in the Fall of 2024 to continue pursuing his education. Jordell is the proud recipient of the Chase W. Dillon Youth Humanitarian Scholarship Award at Herzing University for which he is most grateful.
